One of my first attempts at painting. It was a gift for my boss of her white german shepherd

Since this is my first one of a series of paintings im going to be putting up (:iconesda06: is forcing me to while shes visiting me), I will mention that I don't really know jack about painting. Anyone who does and has any advice or crits to offer would be helping me out a lot so that I can try to improve technique or what have you as I continue to paint in my leisure time. Thanks!

For not using acrylics a lot, you did pretty good :) Just a one general acrylic tip that's saved my butt hundreds of times before- if you're painting and you accidentally paint outside your lines or whatever and onto another part of the painting, don't panic. Take a clean brush, get it a little wet, and gently scrub at the paint and dab the area dry with paper towel. It works great, and doesn't usually leave a mark. And when it does, it's barely visible. I've done this on everything from canvas to cardboard to feathers, and it's worked every time.

for someone who claims not to know jack about painting you are really quite brilliant at it. the subtle purples really help make the pic pop and the little light tones are the cherries on top. for something so simple, its really quite beautiful. :]

i paint....just...none that ive put UP.

your WAY more of a better painter then i am, and ive been painting for years. lol

one thumbs up is that you added texture to the background :D and that helps A LOT when doing things like that xD

no one cant critique you. your just...THAT good. XD
