You're new to this medium?
Doesn't look like it O_O
It looks really good for your first try with gouache (I'm not a fan of this medium. I prefer watercolours because they're easier to handle I think. I don't like how gouache dries so fast.)
I really like your new character.
And I like your traditional art :D

This looks so cool! I've never really heard of gouache; what's it's like? I'm guessing it's something like watercolors. :P

Goddamn it, lost my comment from before.
I was gonna mention that you oughta lengthen the body out a little more next time. That's why he looks quite jackalish (like you mentioned before to me). Shepherds are more rectangular to the huskie square. They're longer than tall (though they are tall).
Good going maintaining that muzzle shape! It's a doozie, that big nose, but it sells the face.

Gouache is awesome stuff. Very rich in pigment, and much more fun (for me personally at least) than computer work. Love the results!

Have you ever read "Flossie and the Fox"? Its a story book with art that reminds me of this. He also has a pose similar to some that the fox strikes.

Far better than my first forays into gouache, "What do you mean it isn't supposed to be thick and opaque like tempra?"

I was wondering why I couldn't see it. :noes:

I should really try using some of these; I've heard they're really good and fun to use. C: I love the blending you've done on this... did you sketch this first and then color over the sketch?
